Great Lakes Experience Festival, July 28th at River Fest Park

It takes a lot for me to willingly post a picture of myself online, but I had to “crow” about my experience at the Great Lakes Experience(GLE) Festival on Saturday, July 28th at River Fest Park. (My apologies for the bad pun, but I couldn’t resist!) As I was making my way through the exhibits, I spotted a beautiful European Barn Owl named Barney, who is actually a female. Pete Lotz from Skyhunters told me about Barney and what a great disposition she had, and then offered to let me hold her. What a treat it was to hold such a beautiful creature.. . . .(read more)

SNAP! Provides Students Opportunity to
Experinence Nature Through Their Own Lens

A Fish Tale; The Big One That Did Not Get Away

Some of my fondest memories as a young boy and teenager are of fishing the lakes, rivers and ponds of Western New York and Western Pennsylvania with my grandfather or "Pap" as we called him.
